Bob Chaundy

Located in the United Kingdom, Bob Chaundy began his career in broadcast journalism in 1980 after visiting Ghana, where he gained experience using a portable tape recorder and conducting interviews. Bob initially worked with the Dutch World Service in the Netherlands before freelancing in radio, specializing in short features for NPR. Subsequently, Bob worked as the Editor of Obituaries at BBC News, producing TV obituaries in advance and covering numerous notable figures' deaths. After leaving the BBC, Bob wrote obituaries for UK national newspapers. Additionally, Bob pursued their interest in art by blogging for HuffPost and eventually creating their own website, Considering Art, where he now host podcasts interviewing artists and exploring the stories behind their work.

Jeanine Hill-Soldner

 

Born in Quantico, Virginia and raised in a military family, Jeanine Hill-Soldner was passionate about art from a young age. She won her first art award at age twelve and began her painting journey at age 15 in an artist’s studio. She has consistently been an art creator with a passion that continues today with her dynamic, representational paintings. Jeanine’s professional career has spanned more than 35 years.  She is an award winning nationally recognized Artist with a BA in Art Education from the University of Florida and MA in Art from University of Illinois. She exhibits her artwork in museums and galleries nationally and in the Chicago area.  Most notably she has exhibited in more than two hundred group shows and numerous solo exhibits.  Her work can be found in public and private collections in the US and Europe.   She is founder of the seminal “Portraits of American Veterans Project” and “Memories of an Era” that have exhibited extensively and were featured in 2017 at Chicago’s National Veterans Art Museum and in 2024 at Water Street Studios in Batavia, Illinois in a show titled “Portraits and Memories: Legacies of Service.”

Steve Sherrell

 

Steve Sherrell is a career painter from the Chicago school of art. He was raised in Indiana but moved to the Chicago area to finish his education at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a BFA and MFA in Painting and Drawing. His early influence was his father who was a painter and window dresser for a large department store. As a boy he was exposed to Abstract Expressionism, Cubism, Pop Art and American Realism. His training at the School of the Art Institute was with Ray Yoshida and Whitney Halstead, who introduced him to studio practices that he has utilized since he graduated. He is Professor Emeritus of Art at Joliet Junior College. He is currently the Director of Exhibitions and Curator at Water Street Studios in Batavia, Illinois and founder of the Water Street Studios Artist’s Collective.

ALAN SINGER

 

Singer received a BFA from the Cooper Union School of Art and Architecture and an MFA in painting from Cornell University. He also did post-graduate work at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and at the Pratt Institute School of Visual Communications. Singer was awarded a scholarship for summer study at Yale University at Norfolk, also from Boston University at Tanglewood, and from The Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. His artwork has been widely exhibited in group and many solo shows and has been acquired for public and private collections throughout the United States. In addition to his prolific work as a painter and printmaker, Singer is now a retired Professor from the School of Art, College of Imaging Arts and Sciences, at Rochester Institute of Technology. Singer is actively engaged in the world of contemporary art as a curator, lecturer, and writer. His articles have been published in many arts magazines, and since 2010, he has written a regular blog, “The Visual Artworker: A dialog about contemporary art in western New York.”
